We seek a senior network engineer with a strong background in Microsoft technologies to join our team. This role provides top-tier technical support and manages our clients’ complex portfolio of technologies, focusing on Windows servers, Active Directory, PowerShell, and Microsoft 365 solutions. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring client environments remain robust, reliable, and resilient.

This position is based in our Moline headquarters and is not a remote worker position.

Responsibilities:

  • Support client desktops and servers, including line of business and productivity application installation and maintenance.
  • Configure and manage advanced networking hardware from leading industry vendors, including firewalls, switches, and routers.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and work effectively with end-users through the problem-solving process.
  • Determine the best course of action for incident resolution based on the issue, details provided by the client, best practice documents, and team collaboration while maintaining continuous dialog with clients regarding incident status and resolution.
  • Document incident troubleshooting steps and resolution through our ticketing system.
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements, including software and hardware updates.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members regarding supported technologies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and facilitate installations and upgrades.
  • Contribute to the development of internal processes and best practices to enhance the efficiency and quality of our service delivery.
  • Continuously research emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions and improvements for our clients’ IT environments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT, with a strong focus on network hardware and Microsoft technologies, including Windows server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, PowerShell, and Microsoft 365.
  • Proven track record of providing primary administration for switches, routers, and virtualization environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and strong relationships with clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical certifications in networking and Microsoft technologies are preferred.
